Portia Tung is an Executive, Personal & Team coach and Play researcher, specialising in the art and science of transformation. She enjoys working across diverse industries in a range of organisations including the Prime Minister’s Office, the NHS, Education, British Airways and global financial institutions.
She combines coaching and business strategies with Play Science to bring about positive and enduring change. She is the founder of The School of Play, dedicated to promoting happier adulthood through lifelong play. Portia is particularly fond of enabling people not only to realise their unused potential but explore and experiment with ways of increasing it through the principle of lifelong learning and growth.
She has enjoyed a number of roles over the years, ranging from Java developer, to development manager, Agile consultant-coach, workshop designer, facilitator, trainer, coach and play researcher.
Portia primarily supports individuals, teams and groups in finding joy and purpose in their lives, in and outside of work, through a rich collection of modalities including Play Science, neuroscience, psychology and & Systemic Constellations.
Portia also supports organisations and teams wishing to transition to the Agile methodology through the pragmatic application of Lean and Agile Values, Principles and Practices. Portia’s also the author of The Dream Team Nightmare, the first ever Agile novel where you get to put your Agile knowledge and experience to the test by making decisions which determine the outcome of the story.
Portia is completing her second book, this time on her concept of Playful Leadership, an approach that nurtures the kind of leadership unique to each individual – one that comes from the heart, not just the mind – by harnessing an individual’s gifts, creativity and potential.
In her spare time, Portia enjoys befriending Jabberwockies, practising yoga, playing with the ukulele and having tea with fantastic creatures.
