Playful Leadership: Emergence²

Emergence² is an evolving course that can serve as bookends to the Playful Leadership programme.

For those who choose to embark on the programme by following the modules in sequence, Emergence² represents the beginning and the ending of the transformative experience that is Playful Leadership – an initial emergence in the present followed by a second emergence after journeying to your point of origin.

For others, Emergence² can be taken as one of four stand-alone courses from the Playful Leadership programme that best nourishes your interests and fulfil your needs in the present moment. Like collecting seashells or following your dreams, the process of becoming a person is rarely linear.

SCHEDULE

This course usually takes place from Wednesday to Friday from 10.00 – 17.00 on all three days. It is possible that we finish before 17.00 on the last day to facilitate a smoother commute back into our daily lives.

  • Play Science fundamentals
  • Play as one of 7 emotional circuits
  • Play and Polyvagal Theory
  • Exploration of your belonging in past, present and future systems
  • Competition: Its place and purpose in play
  • Shadow Play: Reclamation and letting go of that which is stuck or hidden

Depending on the enthusiasm and energy level of participants, there will be the option to explore this course’s themes more deeply at The Night School of Play each evening, likely to run from 19.30-21.30 BST.

This course is ideal for constellators, coaches, leaders, managers, creatives and problem solvers who wish to ignite creativity and harness their own leadership potential as well as enable others to do the same. It is also a rich source of inspiration and practical tools  for organisational change agents, Agile coaches, Scrum Masters, product managers, HR and consultants.

ABOUT PORTIA TUNG

Portia is a Play Alchemist, Executive & Agile Coach and Systemic Constellations Facilitator. She is dedicated to promoting happier adulthood through lifelong play. By combining her skills with her desire to bring about positive and enduring change, she has stumbled upon a wholesome way of leading she calls Playful Leadership, a manifestation of applied play alchemy. Based on Portia’s 20+ years in enabling change in organisations and with individuals, it is through play alchemy that we can enable transformational change that is fun, effective and efficient – at work, at home and anywhere we go.

Portia is a popular international speaker and workshop presenter well-known for her creative and energising sessions at Agile conferences. She is also the author of the first ever Agile business novel where you, as the reader, get to determine the outcome of the story The Dream Team Nightmare – Boost Team Productivity Using Agile Techniques.

In her spare time, Portia enjoys befriending Jabberwockies, practising yoga and having tea with fantastic creatures.

Emergence² is one of four modules in the Playful Leadership programme created by Portia Tung. It is an emergent creation as a result of Portia’s passionate pursuit for a healthy balance between purpose, play and work.
